The Lenovo ThinkPad T430u was the only ThinkPad ever to end in an "U" for Ultrabook. As such it differs in multiple ways from modern ThinkPad Ultrabooks and other ThinkPads.
Installation
Booting Linux on the T430u with the standard kernel flags will fail most times (it seems to work some times with specific kernel and microcode versions but further investigation is needed). Adding noapic
to the kernel parameters allows the archiso and regular installations to boot reliably.
