아치 리눅스에서 패키지는 makepkg 명령과 PKGBUILD와 같은 커스텀 빌드 스크립트를 사용해서 빌드합니다. 패키지로 만들면 pacman 명령을 이용해서 설치하고 관리할 수 있습니다. official repositories 안의 프로그램이 사용하는 PKGBUILD 파일은 ABS 목록에서 받아올 수 있습니다. 수천개 이상의 다른 비공식 프로그램의 파일은 Arch User Repository에서 찾을 수 있습니다.
